Residence 365 Sells the Netherlands’ Most Expensive Penthouse

Residence 365, the exclusive Affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate in the Netherlands, have started the year brilliantly with the sale of the largest penthouse at the iconic Pontsteiger building in Amsterdam. The penthouse was sold to an Asian-Dutch buyer, Mr Won Yip. The exact transaction price for the penthouse is undisclosed, but it is well above €10,000 (US$10,827) per square meter. This phenomenal result comes exactly one year after the sale of “Madonna’s Penthouse,” a 750-square-meter luxury apartment in Rotterdam, which was reported to have been purchased by music icon Madonna.

Encompassing the entire top floor of project Pontsteiger, located in the brand new Houthavens district of Amsterdam, the 1,440-square-meter penthouse features multiple luxury amenities including eight parking spaces and two private yacht moorings. Developed by Dura Vermeer and De Nijs Construction, the building comprises 366 luxury condominiums, with 66 still offered for sale, and is scheduled for completion in late 2017. With such exclusive apartments, comes a high level of demand. The property garnered strong international interest particularly from China, the UK, Russia, and the United States, yet 60 percent of all enquiries came from the Netherlands.
