As a child, Tom Campbell first visited his grandparent's home on the beach, just north of where the Port Royal Club now stands, and immediately fell in love with Naples. That was in 1953. After graduating from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Law, Tom served in the U.S. Army. In 1971 Tom moved permanently to Naples, Florida.

Tom Campbell was one of the founders of the Community School of Naples and an early board member of both the Community School and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. In 2002, Tom Campbell was awarded the Conservancy's "President's Award" for his 30 year commitment to "protecting and preserving Naples environment." In 2004, Tom was awarded an honorary diploma from the Community School of Naples. Tom's son, Charles Campbell, attended the Community School from Pre-K through 12th grade and, after graduating from Georgetown University with a major in Japanese language, (receiving the school's linguistics award), now teaches at the Community School of Naples.

For over 30 years, Tom and his family lived in the first home built (1950) in the interior of Port Royal. Tom is a member of the Port Royal Club.

Tom Campbell was named by the Wall Street Journal in the top two hundred real estate professionals in the country ranking 35th.
