Winfried country estate In a densely populated country like the Netherlands, the Winfried estate with ample space around is a rare treasure. The Winfried estate is an original, stylish, private estate with interesting recorded history and provenance. It consists of approximately 35 acres with a park, meadows, two houses, a pool and a large secluded private woodland, which is surrounded by nature, forest and two neighbouring estates. It's located at the front of the old road between the cities Apeldoorn and Zwolle. The estate is located near these cities, as well as to the river IJssel, with beautiful nature. The cities of Amsterdam, Utrecht and Arnhem are in aradius of about 100 kilometres away.Winfried means Man of Peace. The Winfried estate is located in Wapenveld, a townwhich forms part of the community Heerde of which the history goes back far intothe Middle Ages. The estate was founded by Dr. Zürcher: physician, linguistic and visual artist with an impressive network, but best known as a patron of the famous Dutch writerMultatuli. Zürcher wrote an autobiography, which was titled Winfried. Two important buildings mark the estate: House Winfried, a monumental 1916 villa designed by architect M. Meijerink, reputed for country villas and castles. There's a very spacious coach house with integral horse stables and a facade length of over 20 metres. An interesting detail is an original power house located separately from the villa. The park includes a bird meadow with a large pond, a secret garden behind 100 metres rhododendrons. The large pastures are directly accessible from the centrally located stables. The meadows and the park include a sprinkler system from a source which also provides water for the pool and the pond fountain.Unique for the Netherlands is the gas free underground shelter and a monumental large (30x40 m) oval natural swimming/boating lake makes the estate unique, as well as the private forest.Although the Winfried estate is a whole, for the law it is separated into two estates, Winfried house and Winfried Klein house, which offers several options. The status of ‘natural monument' also provides various tax advantages. If desired, there is the possibility of acquiring one of the two estates. Partial business use provides additional attractive tax options. A plan for construction is present.Classification Winfried HouseWinfried house is a striking, spacious and bright villa with especially large windows, covered terraces and balconies that overlook the park and the forest.BasementA large and high cellar for provision or stoke kettle with an original wine cellar, apple cellar and a storage space.Ground floorStately entrance with columns, vestibule, spacious marble vestibule, spacious central hall with a monumental staircase, an open fireplace and access to the authentic round conservatory with access to park, wardrobe, men's lounge, sitting room with patio doors to the terrace, dining room with patio doors to the terrace and entrance to the original dessert kitchen, with access to cooking kitchen and utility room that provides access to the basement and also to the garden; attached is a double garage which can be reached from the house.1st FloorSpacious hall with balcony, master bedroom with exit to a large covered porch balcony, followed by a large bathroom with original plumbing. Both the library and the lounge-/television room give access to a nice balcony overlooking the pond and the "front and rear meadow plots".
