Red Hall is a distinctive 18th Century Grade II listed 3-storey country house. A particular feature of the house are the rusticated pilasters which are referred to in Nikolaus Pevsner’s ’The Buildings of England’. The current owners restored the principal façade of the house in 1992 to five bays with traditional oak mullioned leaded windows and a fine timber cornice to match the original brickwork and doorcase.

The house offers well laid out spacious accommodation with three reception rooms including a farmhouse kitchen with Aga, pamment floor and original bread oven. Adjacent to the kitchen is a double height store room which has potential for further accommodation (possibly over two floors), subject to the necessary consents. This room could also be incorporated within the kitchen/breakfast room.

There are excellent ceiling heights throughout the house which faces south with splendid views over its own gardens, grounds and the surrounding countryside, including the picturesque village Church. Original 18th Century features include a fine Georgian staircase, panelled doors and surrounds, shuttered windows, cornices, and fire places. A marble fire place in the drawing room now houses a wood burning stove.

To the rear of the house are extensive outbuildings, ideal as a base for a small business. Outbuilding accommodation includes a newly built workshop/studio in traditional materials as well as a smaller workshop and three large offices. This range of single storey buildings could be converted to an annexe (subject to the necessary consents) and extends to over 2000 sq feet.

Red Hall is approached by a peashingle drive between pleached lime trees leading to a parking and turning area at the rear of the house. This driveway also gives access to the workshops/offices. To the front of the house, lawns bordered by well stocked flower beds and clipped bay trees flank a gravel path to the front door, adding to the charming symmetry of Red Hall. To the west of the house is an area of formal garden, enclosed by well-maintained yew and box hedging and planted with apple and pear trees. Of particular note is the stone belvedere which overlooks a pond and provides an ideal location for outside entertaining.
Further to the west is a paddock. Most of the land is situated to the South of the house over the quiet country lane. This includes meadowland, woodland and a large pond. The woods are a haven for wildlife, and the meadows would be ideal for equestrian use. From the land there are fine views towards Southburgh Church and the surrounding countryside. 8.43 acres
