Blessed by a temperate year-round climate in a hurricane-free zone, the 1,500 acre oceanfront community of Santa Barbara Plantation is located on the eastern side of the island Curaçao, part of the Dutch Commonwealth of nations. Curaçao is often chosen for its unique island qualities: a rich history and developed infrastructure, culturally diverse and multi-lingual population, its trusted and predictable (civil law) legal system and stable government with strong ties to the Netherlands.

Seru Boca Estate No. 10 is an opulent villa situated on a (approx.) 3-acre Peninsula (= approx. 9.000m²), see appendix, forming the largest and most unique waterfront property of the Seru Boca Estate, with breath taking views of the Spanish Water bay, the remote north conservation area in the north and lying in the shade of the Table Mountain. Completed in 2016, it represents the epitome of high-end lifestyle in the Caribbean with unique attributes. Comprising two main parts, an east and a west wing, the villa is situated against the highest and southernmost point of the property, enjoying unobstructed trade winds from the east throughout the year.

A contemporary architectural design, furnished with a bespoke - Austrian made - custom interior and finished with superior components provide a sophisticated tropical living environment of ultimate comfort, luxury and style.
Through the use of natural materials and colours, this spectacular villa is in perfect harmony with its indigenous vegetation and rock formations in the broader confinements of Santa Barbara Plantation.

Architecture
Respectful of its surroundings and serene location, the contemporaneous design of the house combines two longitudinal wings facing east and west, overlapping each other gracefully, combining spacious areas under two majestic Canadian Cedar roofs, breathing a harmonious flow of spaces. All the main “living” areas of the house are on the same level, making movement between the various spaces seamless. The connection to the lower level of the house was designed though an internal staircase in the southern part of the east wing and safely connects to the garage, auxiliary power unit, lower guest room, pool deck and bar, gym, material storage and utility areas.

The modern Caribbean accents such as shuttered sliding doors and light oak parquet floors with flat plinths in all rooms are a constant reminder of this privileged part of the world.

Kitchen & Kitchen-appliances
The sophisticated - flat panelled - and fully equipped kitchen, coloured to accent the rest in the interior furniture - boasts only top quality brands such as Bulthaup countertop and cooking island, Gaggennau (combi-) ovens, Wolf burners and Viking refrigeration. The “clean space” design employs the latest inward extraction technology, obviating the need for traditional extractors. It has a practical layout with basins in the fixed as well as a brushed stainless steel floating countertop. A modern cooking island containing all facilities for efficient access to appliances, with an extension for high chairs, creating a warm atmosphere. To facilitate stocking a built-in Otis elevator to transport groceries directly from the underground garage and delivery area was installed.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Located in the east wing are the master – and children’s bedrooms which are connected through an internal corridor but also open up to an elongated upper terrace, providing an expansive view of the Spanish Water bay, the remote conservation area in the north and directly overlooking the lower pool deck. The terrace is covered by a red cedar pergola and is decorated with self-irrigated plants.

The bedrooms are protected from direct exposure to sunlight since they face north, allowing a continuous flow of natural light and cool Caribbean breeze through the upper windows and shuttered sliding doors with integrated mosquito screens. All bedrooms can be darkened using the integrated shuttered sliding doors and remote controlled curtains. Each is fully furnished with ceiling fans (Haiku), inverter (energy saving) cooling units and custom products ranging from desks, beds, floating night stands and back panelling manufactured by Kletzenbauer Tichlerei GmbH, in Austria (Kletzenbauer).

In the master suite, a large square bathtub/jacuzzi, private toilet, double sink, dresser and armoire containing the remotely elevated television blend colour, finish, design and ergonomics into one zen harmonious atmosphere. The generous walk-in closet grants ample space and facilities for the most extensive wardrobe.

Two adjoining large children’s bedrooms enjoy all the comforts that will make toddlers, teens, or adults, feel perfectly at home and allow full privacy if so desired. These two rooms, which are mirror images of each other, offer one large (queen sized) bed, plenty of closet space, a private bathroom and a working space.

Office, playroom and gym
An office in the western edge of the west wing was designed to offer working privacy whilst being proximate to the living area of the home. It is fully wired and its functional design allows an easy conversion to a guest room, with its own fully equipped bathroom facilities and fold-out sleeping accommodation, all custom crafted by Kletzenbauer. This workspace contains a large desk, ample closet space, and an inspiring view of the Spanish Water bay and southern part of the island.

For the young family members, a separate playroom at the end of the corridor of the east wing, facing south, was designed with the same custom furniture by Kletzenbauer and is installed to accommodate the latest audio/visual technologies and systems.

The gym, situated in the lower level of the house, perpendicular to the lower guest room entry, allows for easy access and the flow of fresh air or air conditioner cooling. It borders an internal garden, can be independently cooled and, thanks to a cleverly placed ventilation grate, can be aired periodically.

Lower Guest room
Offering complete privacy, with a separate entrance and carport, facing north to enjoy the spectacular Spanish Water and north side views, a self-sufficient guest room with a fully equipped independent kitchen and bathing facility was built below the west wing of the villa. The interior follows the same high standards and finish as the upper level, built and installed by Kletzenbauer. In short, this is a full service facility that offers (longer term) guests complete independence with easy access to the pool deck.

Housekeeping quarter
On the property there is also a fully equipped servant’s quarter, functionally located under a separate roof with its own entrance and furnished by Kletzenbauer according to the same high specifications as the rest of the villa, facing south toward the pedestrian and vehicle entrances of the villa. Convertible to a self-sufficient guest apartment, similar to that of the guest room below the west wing, it contains all necessary facilities and provisions, such as a separate bathroom and complete kitchen.
