NEW YORK (December 28, 2012) – The natural overlay of fine art and luxury real estate was on prominent display December 4 – 9 at Art Miami as a record crowd of 60,000 entered the pavilion and were immediately greeted by the Christie’s International Real Estate booth. Enticed by a 72-inch video screen showing the network’s top properties from around the globe, and personally welcomed by corporate and affiliate personnel, one traveling as far as Hong Kong, the message was clear: the world’s leading art auction house is in the real estate business.
“The synergy is a natural for us,” said Bonnie Sellers, Bonnie Stone Sellers, Chief Operating Officer of Christie’s International Real Estate. “Both art and real estate are assets of passion and lifestyle. The same people who buy fine art also buy luxury real estate.’’
Christie’s International Real Estate is the only network wholly owned by a fine art auction house and committed to Christie’s core values of expertise in marketing luxury assets, exemplary client service, and discretion. The network’s 120 affiliates representing 40 countries were carefully selected to join after demonstrating these same corporate values and leadership in high-value residential sales in their local markets.
Nine Affiliate brokerages co-sponsored the weeklong Art Miami event. They are:
- Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell Realtors in Miami
- Hilton & Hyland Real Estate in Beverly Hills
- Illustrated Properties Real Estate in North Palm Beach
- Joshua & Co. in Aspen
- Landscope Christie’s International Real Estate in Hong Kong
- Michael Saunders & Company in Sarasota
- Premier Estate Properties in Boca Raton
- Pacific Union International in San Francisco
- Sibarth Real Estate in Saint Barthélemy
Properties from every one of the network’s brokerages were represented in the booth, either in the video loop, on-site distribution of Christie’s International Real Estate magazine, and brochure racks of high-profile residences. Christie’s art specialists, Christie’s International Real Estate executives, and principals and top producing brokers form the co-sponsoring affiliate companies all attended and invited important clients to a VIP reception, before which Vivian Pfeiffer, Managing Regional Director at Christie's, hosted a private tour of select Art Miami galleries for the affiliate co-sponsors.
“We very much look forward to returning to Miami February 12 – 17 for our sponsorship of Art Miami’s sister fair, Art Wynwood,” adds Ms. Stone Sellers.
