Christie’s International Real Estate announces Affiliates of the Year at Global Conference in Argentina

Four respected Affiliates honored for excellence in innovation, leadership, expertise and elegance in luxury marketing

Buenos Aires, Argentina – Christie’s International Real Estate, the world’s leading luxury real estate network, proudly announces the winners of the 2017 Affiliate of the Year awards. The winners were recognized at the 2018 Christie’s International Real Estate’s global owners conference, held recently in Buenos Aires.

Four awards are given each year, three of which are determined in the small, medium and large market categories with the top honor bestowed to the overall winner regardless of market size. Criteria used in determining the four winners are business innovation, market leadership, passion to succeed in the local and global marketplace under the Christie’s International Real Estate brand, and collaboration with network colleagues and Christie’s art auction house specialists.

The award recipients were Ivester Jackson of North Carolina (overall winner); Special Properties of Bergen County, New Jersey (small market winner); Coastal Properties of Clearwater and St. Petersburg, Florida (medium market winner) and Hawai’i Life, which operates state-wide and claimed the large market title.

The common themes for all the 2017 Affiliate of the Year winners were a passion for their businesses, network leadership, seizing growth opportunities and their work with Christie’s and the global network throughout the year. Their achievements were as follows:

Ivester Jackson, of Charlotte, North Carolina, won top honors as Affiliate of the Year for 2017. Since joining the Christie’s International Real Estate network four years ago, Ivester Jackson has tripled its annual sales volume and is now the top seller of estate homes not only in Charlotte but also North Carolina, responsible for the sale of one of every three homes in the region listed over $2 million. The company joined with Greenville, South Carolina, Affiliate Blackstream to open a new brokerage entity with offices in the town of Asheville, North Carolina – the first collaboration of its type in network history.

Special Properties Real Estate Services, of Bergen County, New Jersey, was honored with the small market award. The company opened its first five brokerages just last year, with the Mahwah office rising to number one in the market for both sales and listings by dollar volume. The company sponsored a glamorous event with Christie’s International Real Estate and Rolls Royce at its signature listing, the magnificent $48 million Darlington Mansion. Special Properties will also be expanding to additional luxury enclaves – opening the doors to a new location in Hoboken, New Jersey, soon, as well as Westchester, Orange, and Rockland counties in New York, and Morris and Essex counties in New Jersey.

Coastal Properties, of St. Petersburg, Florida, was the medium market winner. Principal Alex Jansen and his team of 12 top producers at a national franchise left to start their own brokerage with Christie’s branding in July of 2012. The firm has since roared to the top of the local luxury market in just five years. Sales increased from $140 million in 2013 to $810 million in 2017. Last year, Coastal posted a year-over-year increase in $1 million-plus sales of 26% (72 vs. 91 transactions) to be crowned the number one brokerage in Pinellas County for existing luxury home sales. Discussions are underway to expand with Coastal Properties into other luxury enclaves.

Hawai’i Life, covering the entire state of Hawaii, claimed the large market award. Matt Beall and Winston Welborn started their firm in 2008 and have become the luxury leader in the Hawaiian Islands, expanding to the island of Oahu in 2017, having already achieved significant sales on the Big Island, Kauai and Maui. Just last month, Hawai’i Life announced it was joining forces with Patricia Choi, celebrated for her 30-year record of success on Oahu, to create an exciting mix of tradition with cutting-edge marketing.
