Christie’s International Real Estate welcomes new Affiliate, Dimora Italia Real Estate, to serve Venice and the surrounding Veneto region

Led by founder Filippo Gaggia, CEO Paola Doria and General Manager Arnaldo Fusello, all born and raised in Venice, the three bring a combined 60 years of experience in the sale and marketing the city’s luxury villas and palazzi

London (May 13, 2022,) Christie’s International Real Estate proudly announces the network’s newest Affiliate in Italy, Dimora Italia Real Estate.

The established and newly-rebranded boutique brokerage will continue to serve Venice, as it has for over 25 years. Dimora Real Estate is also expanding to serve the Adriatic Coast; Verona, famed as the setting for Shakespeare’s “Romeo & Juliet” and for its Roman amphitheater, built in 30 A.D. and still used today; the wine country, best-known for producing Prosecco; Padua, a must for art historians to view the architecture and frescos of Giotto; and finally, the jagged Dolomites, host of the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Dimora Real Estate is run by co-founders Paola Doria and Filippo Gaggia, both natives of Venice and bringing a combined 50 years of experience to the area’s luxury real estate.

Said Georgina James of Christie’s International Real Estate: “Venice is a prime feeder market to all of Veneto for those looking for holiday homes or country estates. Paola and Filippo, with their team of agents, are ideal to bring their concierge service and market expertise to the entire region.”

Sales are up 50% from 2020 to 2021 in the prime Venetian property market, according to Gaggia. The region remains popular with Italians seeking second homes or investment property, as well as with buyers from France and the U.K. The most popular properties offer two to three bedrooms, a terrace with a canal view and in the Venetian architectural style.

Dimora Real Estate’s main office is on Palazzo Querini alla Carità, on the Grand Canal in Dorsoduro, the former house of the British consulate. The new office, opening at the end of July, is in San Barnaba Square. The church of the same name was the backdrop for “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” and is currently hosting the exhibition of the machines invented by Leonardo da Vinci. The shop is where Katharine Hepburn takes refuge after falling into the canal in the film "Summertime."

Says Filippo Gaggia: “Venice is extremely livable, with restaurants, shopping and culture all within walking distance. Our international airport is the third largest in Italy. Skiing in the Dolomites is 90 minutes with the beaches of Lido only 15 minutes away. After buying, restoration projects can seem daunting, with regulations put in place to protect the city’s historic beauty. Our agency is seasoned and uniquely positioned to help successfully navigate these regulations.”

Adds Arnaldo Fusello: “The 2026 Olympics will further shine the global spotlight on Veneto’s beauty, enviable lifestyle and architectural magnificence. We are here to assist new buyers looking to purchase real estate ahead of the Olympic fanfare as well as those discovering this treasured area of the world during the Games, when prices will likely rise again due to demand.”
