Former Bronco safety and Super Bowl 50 champion T.J. Ward puts his Denver-area estate on the market for US$2,240,000

Ward is the original owner of the home he curated, commanding one of the largest lots in its gated enclave and featuring a sprawling closet for his prized collection of athletic shoes

Denver, Colorado (January 27, 2019) Christie’s International Real Estate’s Denver brokerage is pleased to offer T.J. Ward’s Heritage Hills’ residence for US$2,240,000. The 6,745-square-foot, five-bedroom and six-and-one-half-bath home is listed by Gwenivere Snyder. The home’s furnishings have been carefully selected or made to order and may be negotiated into the price of the house.

The Super Bowl 50 trophy went to the Denver Broncos who steamrolled to an upset victory by a score of 24–10 over the Carolina Panthers in 2016. T.J. Ward was Denver’s starting safety. In that momentous game, with Denver considered by some pre-game pundits as one of the most hopeless underdogs to ever take the field in the Big Game’s history, Mr. Ward pulled down one interception, recovered a fumble and made seven tackles, an indelible performance contributing to the city’s third and arguably most historic Super Bowl win.

Mr. Ward is renowned for his collection of some 400 sneakers and has been frequently interviewed by fashion outlets about his avocation. The master suite’s oversized walk-in closet was custom designed to hold a large number of his shoes as well as his suits, shirts, jackets and jewelry. A selection of the shoe collection is visible in an artistic display gracing the adjoining sitting room, which is further appointed with a fireplace and wet bar. The master suite, with its deck, also includes a relaxing bathroom with a standing tub and a steam shower. Three additional bedrooms, all en suite, are located on this floor. A top-floor loft is currently used as an additional private living room but could serve as the home’s fifth bedroom.

“I was inspired by my sense of fashion,” T.J. Ward said about the hands-on design of his home, including custom flooring, trims and walls. “I wanted my home decor to represent me and my personality as much as possible. I had a lot of space so I could create different aspects of my life into each room.”

The home is introduced by an entry passing banistered stairs to the upper loft and then on the landing below, the wine room — more an art installation with bottles on full display through wooden doors paned in glass and framed by a stone wall. The stairs then descend further to the massive game room on the basement level.

Proceeding down the home’s main entry is the formal dining area, with its heated deck accessible behind double doors of glass and custom-stained wood floors and trim. The entry then flows to the main living area, warmed by a fireplace and opening onto another heated deck and also encompassing an informal dining area and the gourmet kitchen, complete with state-of-the-art appliances and a granite island for casual seating. An executive office completes this floor.

Outside the kitchen is a grill and outdoor kitchen, ideal for the Rocky Mountain’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle and alfresco entertaining. Beyond is the massive backyard, one of the largest in the neighborhood.

The basement level of the home is reserved for a game room with a custom-designed wet bar, a pool table, a poker nook and a separate gym. This level wraps around a walk-out courtyard with a large fireplace and the backyard beyond. The home is fully equipped with Smart Home technology.

Heritage Hills is a gated enclave in the Denver suburb of Lone Tree with four tennis courts, a basketball half-court, a mini soccer field and two junior Olympic-sized pools. The larger community of Lone Tree has a championship golf course, a rec center and a performing arts facility with abundant open space and trails for walking, running and biking.
