Renegade, a rare legacy holding within Wyoming’s Bridger Teton National Forest, reimagined as an elite fly-in enclave
Offering 19 homesites, Renegade offers members a community lodge, a 3,000-foot airstrip with hangar and part-ownership of a turboprop plane for easy access
Jackson Hole, Wyoming (July 6, 2020) — Renegade’s unlikely location, nestled within the federally protected Bridger Teton National Forest, truly sets it apart.
Known as an in-holding — private properties within the borders of national parks or forests — Renegade is a throwback from when the new United States government sold tracts of public land in order to fund the administration of the fledgling country. As this practice predated the formation of Federal land-management agencies by more than a century, these privately owned parcels were grandfathered into the overall park plans.
Renegade will be a 100-acre island of luxury in the midst of one of the world’s most pristine mountain wilderness areas. Ringed by majestic mountains and bordering Greys River, renowned worldwide for its blue-ribbon fishing, the development is limited to just 19 homesites ranging in size from roughly one to seven acres and priced from US$2,500,000 to US$5,000,000. One of the largest lots includes a two-bedroom guest cabin directly on the banks of the river.
Renegade is represented by Shea DeMello and Matt and Julie Faupel of Jackson Hole Real Estate Associates and David Turner of Big Horn Real Estate Associates, all exclusive Affiliates of Christie’s International Real Estate.
Renegade is both ultimately remote yet only a 20-minute flight from Jackson Hole Airport or a 45-minute drive from Alpine, Wyoming. The community is served by a 3,000-foot-long and 50-foot-wide paved runway, a smaller grass runway, a helipad and a hangar. Members share ownership of a Quest Kodiak turboprop. Another unique amenity is the Toy Hangar, with equipment available for use by members to include a helicopter for extreme skiing excursions and heli-tours, snowmobiles, snowshoes, cross-country skis, mountain bikes, Jeeps, rafts and fishing equipment.
The 65,000-square-foot Renegade Lodge offers indoor and outdoor entertainment areas, a saloon, a theater, meeting rooms, a full kitchen, workout facilities and a hot tub. The lodge also includes a concierge staff to facilitate member requests for masseuses, personal fitness instructors, packing in horses for a trail ride, even babysitters. There is also an in-house chef and catering service for functions at the lodge or at a private residence.
Also included with the Renegade ownership is Feathered Hook, an elite fishing club with privileged access to some 100 miles of supreme trout waters. Located in Jackson, the club offers guided fly-fishing excursions and use of a remote cabin for an unforgettable weekend with waders and rod in hand.
The community’s infrastructure includes an off-the-grid water system, an environmentally sensitive waste-water system, Wi-Fi, paved roads plowed in winter and irrigated landscape in the common areas.
“Renegade, Wyoming is where luxury meets wilderness,” said Mr. Turner.
