Rome Exclusive, Affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, expands to Italy’s Campania region, a global jet-set destination

Campania includes Naples, famous for its vibrant urban lifestyle, the glamorous island of Capri and the breathtakingly rugged Amalfi Coast

New York, New York (October 29, 2021) Christie’s International Real Estate proudly announces its entry in the Campania region of Italy, an area of abundant natural beauty, through Rome Exclusive, a network Affiliate since March of 2021. Rome Exclusive, in operation since 2017, sells high-end real estate and also deals with property enhancement and luxury vacation rentals.

Georgina James, of Christie’s International Real Estate, said: “The holiday facet of the company’s business model makes this expansion all the more logical.”

Adds Massimiliano Bulzoni, Managing Director of Rome Exclusive: “Territorial expansion is also synergistic for the real estate market in Rome, as many Romans have their summer residences in Campania.”

Highlights of the region include the buzzing metropolitan mecca of Naples, founded by the Greeks in the first millennium B.C. The city, third largest in Italy, is bracketed by the Gulf of Naples and historic Pompeii and also served by a high-speed train to Rome. It is a mecca for cultural history, being a UNESCO designation, and also dining, music, shopping and the arts. One affluent enclave is Posillipo, with grand villas perched on cliffs and overlooking the water and in town the luxury homes are Liberty style, used in the first two decades of the 20th century, or Neoclassical, dated back to the 18th century. Other sought-after neighborhoods are Chiaia and Vomero, where there is an increase in international requests, especially from the United States. Prices can reach more than €5,000 per square meter.

The Isle of Capri is a longtime jet-set destination. Located in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrento Peninsula, the island has attracted artists such as John Singer Sargent and writers like Somerset Maugham, with today’s global glitterati buying homes and visiting the island regularly. The island is known for white sand beaches and accommodates all sizes of yachts. The real estate market has been gradually and steadily growing since the end of the pandemic. The island is replete with resorts, fine dining and upscale shopping, offering a luxury lifestyle for both buyers and visitors.

The Amalfi Coast is the region’s dramatic yet quiet hideaway. The 31-mile stretch of rugged coastline is noted worldwide for its remote beaches, lemon and olive groves and quaint pastel-painted fishing villages clinging onto steep cliffs that plunge into the water. Hidden within are magnificent private villas offering uninterrupted water views. Its picturesque natural beauty has been an inspiration for German composers Richard Wagner, artists JMW Turner and Joan Miro, and authors D.H. Lawrence and Tennessee Williams. Legendary films stars Greta Garbo, Clark Gable and Humphrey Bogart visited often. The Amalfi Coast is much in demand from the Americans and the Russians and the values of the apartments and villas did not suffer the crisis of the pandemic.

Said Mr. Bulzoni: “The Campania Region has inspired generations of creative geniuses and captains of industry from around the world. The same is true today. We are very enthusiastic about our expansion in the Campania region and serving this important clientele under the Christie’s brand.”
