As Managing Director, Michael provides vision and strategic direction to the firm's niche: selling notable character homes and commercial vineyards in and around the City of Bordeaux. Michael's background lends itself perfectly to his expertise in the advice and sales of commercial vineyards.
Over his 25+ years in the property business, his natural enthusiasm and optimism, coupled with a talent for diplomacy, have built Michael's reputation for facilitating the most complex and challenging negotiations. His comprehensive insight and understanding of the property market have made him a valuable counselor to clients seeking to make well informed decisions. His ability to infuse the purchase and sale process with an atmosphere of trust draws the parties together toward a successful conclusion, and often forges long-term relationships, as well.
Michael's love of France and fine architecture made Bordeaux the perfect site to establish a real-estate agency that draws on his international experience – experience in both the UK and US property markets. A dual citizen of the UK and US, he lived for 13 years in Newport Beach, California, where he co-founded Oxford Homes, a successful developer of multi-million-dollar properties, and Oxford Spectrum (www.oxfordspectrum.com), a commercial-property investment company with 200,000 square feet (19,000 square meters) currently under its ownership and management.
For several years prior, Michael worked with one of London's largest property investor-developers, Speyhawk PLC. He aided the CEO and chairman, negotiating contracts, managing investments, appraising property, and coordinating operations for the firm's institutional-investment portfolio.
Michael began his career refurbishing historic London town houses. He then worked in development management as the Assistant to the President of Property Development and Acquisition at Lyonnaise Des Eaux-Dumez in Paris.
Michael holds an MSc in Land Economy from Cambridge University and a BSc, with honors, in Land Management from Reading University. He qualified as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) in the UK, and in the US is a member of the National Association of Realtors, with a California broker's license. In France, Michael is the holder of the Carte Professionnel for Maxwell-Baynes.
Michael, his wife Synthia and their daughter, live near St-Emilion, just east of the city of Bordeaux.
