Premium Residential Listings Take Center Stage at Christie’s Shanghai sales

Shanghai, China Now in its fifth year of operation, Christie’s Shanghai saleroom offers a truly international auction platform, bringing together the culture and art of Asia and the West. Christie's International Real Estate and affiliate Hilton and Hyland co-hosted a real estate stand at Christie’s Shanghai sales from 22-24 September, bringing a selection of premium residential listings to the forefront of attention of an affluent Chinese and international clientele.

Christie’s has seen a growth in mainland China activity in global sales since 2012. Buyers from 24 different countries have bought in Christie’s Shanghai sales. Diptyque by Zao Wou-Ki became the most expensive work of art to be sold in Christie’s Shanghai when it achieved RMB 33,600,000. The top lot of the 2017 autumn sale was Untitled , by Zao Wou-Ki, which sold for RMB 1,680,000 the sale overall achieved a total of RMB 98,580,000, marking a 35% increase on last year’s sale.

The sales opening day on the 22nd of September culminated with an evening cocktail event attended by over 250 guests, including Christie’s clients and staff as well as Zackary Wright, Executive Director for Asia Pacific and the West, and Tiffany Hu of Hilton & Hyland at the Shanghai Peninsula Hotel.

Villa Firenze, an authentic Italian village set on over nine acres covering the largest assemblage in Beverly Hills, provided the main backdrop for the promotional stand during the Christie's Shanghai autumn sales.

Tiffany Hu of Hilton & Hyland commented: "Mainland Chinese buyers are increasingly interested in our market and we are excited to be able to bring some of our most elite listings in front of such a vibrant audience."

Further outstanding properties featured included the Diamond Bar Chateau, a French-styled, multi-level home perfectly situated on a 2.5-acre beautiful hillside lot above a canyon where it enjoys 270-degree views of Diamond Bar in California. Villa Salmanazar, a Provençal-style dream with chic Saint-Tropez flair, resting amid privacy and seclusion in the hills of Ramatuelle, overlooking the famous bay of Pampelonne in Saint-Tropez; and the handcrafted, luxury-serviced residences at La Tiara di Cervo in Porto Cervo, Sardinia in Italy.
