The borders of the neighborhoods are Broadway to the west, Cherry Creek to the north, University Boulevard to the east, and I-25 to the south, with Downing Street dividing West Washington Park from East Washington Park. Wash Park is only a couple of miles from downtown, with easy access to I-25.
What to do in Washington Park?
The neighborhood has its own quaint commercial district referred to as Old South Gaylord, offering fine dining restaurants, boutiques, and coffee shops. And just blocks away, there is also South Pearl Street, home to galleries, wine and cocktail bars, and some of Denver’s finest restaurants including Sushi Den. Charming retail enclaves, such as Bonnie Brae and Old South Gaylord, together with excellent access to Cherry Creek Mall and bustling area commercial centers are further highlights.
Washington Park is one of the largest parks in the Denver, it is truly the heart and soul of this scenic and cohesive neighborhood, where all are welcome to experience the urban outdoors at its absolute best. A haven for cyclists, walkers, and joggers, Washington Park also hosts soccer leagues, volleyball and tennis tournaments, and flag football on its lush playing fields. It also has two lakes and a recently renovated recreation center, one of the busiest in the city, which offers classes and programs for all ages. There is a seemingly endless series of fitness events, such as the ever-popular Thanksgiving Turkey Trot and the spring Furry Scurry which draw enthusiastic participants from all over the city.
