Saddle River is located in northern New Jersey in Bergen County, an estimated 30 miles from New York City. It’s surrounded by Upper Saddle River to the north, Allendale and Waldwick to the west, Ho-Ho-Kus and Washington Township to the south, and Hillsdale and Woodcliff Lake to the east. Route 17 runs through the west side of town, while the Garden State Parkway is right outside the town’s border on the Eastern side. The major roads in town are West Saddle River Road, East Saddle River Road, East Allendale Road, and Chestnut Ridge Road.
What Are the Transportation Options in Saddle River?
Commuters traveling to New York City by car have easy access to Route 17, which runs north to south through the western part of town. Route 17 merges with I-80, with exit 68A taking travelers to I-95 South and then toward the Lincoln Tunnel via NJ 495 East. The trip takes around an hour, based on traffic. Another route is via Route 17 to Route 4 and then I-95 North over the George Washington Bridge (also around an hour’s drive).
