A classic barn with a year-round one-bedroom apartment above a two-bay garage/workshop, two historic cabins, several additional outbuildings and a substantial dock and loading wharf complete this turnkey island estate.The main house was built in 1917 by John Aspinwall, a successful businessman from New York. During Aspinwall’s stewardship, the residence served as an elegant seasonal retreat where Aspinwall and his family spent their summers hunting, fishing and entertaining. When he died in 1949, the house became a lodge for tourists and was in a state of semi-disrepair when the current owners purchased the property and embarked on a years-long renovation. Bremen Long island is approximately 2.5± miles long and 1± mile wide and includes open fields, unspoiled woodlands, tidal coves, bold rocky shores and old carriage trails.
